Q&A with Augustina Van Hoven:
I love reading paranormal romance. Give me a story with a vampire, or shifter, alien, or time travel and you’ve hooked me. Since these are the books I like to read, they are also the ones I like to write. The Rose series books are all romance stories that involve ghosts. The New Frontier series takes place in the year 2169 and involves romance in the future with space travel, other planets and, of course, aliens. The Love through Time series is all about time travel and meeting your soulmate in another time.
The Hidden is the first book in the Tovenaar series. The premise of the series is: Have you ever wondered why all cultures on earth have the same myths and legends? Men who can turn into animals, men who drink the blood of others, Elves, Fairies, magic? It’s because these things are real. The Tovenaar series explains who these people are, where they come from and why they’re here.
Where is your favorite place to write?
My favorite place to write is in my office. I use Dragon Speak to write my books and the software understands me better when I use my headset rather than work remotely on my laptop.
What inspires you as an author?
Music gives me the most inspiration. I listen to music while I write and many times there is a line in a song that is the seed for a new book.
What are you working on next and when can we expect to see it?
I’m currently working on book 4 in my Love through Time series. This time we will travel back to 1944 and occupied Holland. I am using some of the personal stories told by my father and uncles who lived through the war and the occupation. The book is scheduled to release on May 26th.
How do you spend your free time?
I love to garden. I have a very large vegetable garden with raised beds. Right now there is still snow on the ground so I can’t get outside to play in the dirt. I have Aero hydroponic machines and grow my own lettuce and peppers in the winter time.
