Q&A with Augustina Van Hoven:
I love reading paranormal romance. Give me a story with a vampire, or shifter, alien, or time travel and you’ve hooked me. Since these are the books I like to read, they are also the one’s I like to write. The Rose series books are all romance stories that involve ghosts. The New Frontier series takes place in the year 2169 and involves romance in the future with space travel, other planets and, of course, aliens. The Tovenaar series tells the story of the hidden community of shifters, vampires, elves and fae the live among us. The Love through Time series is all about time travel and meeting your soulmate in another time.
The Curse is the second book in the Tovenaar series. It tells the story of Tovenaar Prince Laren who is suffering under a curse. In the day time he’s a man but at night he turns into a cat. There is a war coming and he must find a way to break the curse in order to fight and defend the community.
Where is your favorite place to write?
My favorite place to write is in my office. I have a beautiful view of the forest outside and can watch the deer, moose and turkeys when they come to visit. I use Dragon Speak to write my books and the software understands me better when I use my headset rather than work remotely on my laptop.
What inspires you as an author?
Music gives me the most inspiration. I listen to music while I write and many times there is a line in a song that is the seed for a new book.
What are you working on next and when can we expect to see it?
I’m currently working on my Halloween novella. This is the beginning of a new series. It takes place in the 1880s and tells the story of the people who defended the people of their area against the supernatural forces trying to harm them.
How do you spend your free time?
I love to garden. I have a very large vegetable garden with raised beds. Right now its harvest time and I’m going out each day and bringing in the vegetables.
About The Curse:
Juliet Cooper never thought that inheriting a piece of forest land from her great uncle could cost her life. There’s something located on her property that members of the hidden community would kill for. Can she trust the handsome stranger she met on her land and can he protect her from what is coming?
Prince Laren is still suffering under a curse, in daylight he’s a man but at night he’s transformed into a cat. The battle lines are being drawn in the hidden community and threaten to engulf the world of humans as well. Can he get the curse removed and reacquire his powers in time to save the beautiful woman with the violet eyes?
