About me: I love living in Chicago because it’s a beautiful city with great restaurants and cultural events. I think what I’ve learned about acting helps with character in particular, and also plot and settings.
What is your favorite place to write? At my desk because I have two monitors (one for research, one for the work in progress) and having two large screens helps me be productive. I enjoy going to a coffee shop (with quiet music) every now and then for a change of pace.
What inspires you as an author? I’m inspired by creativity, intriguing characters and unusual stories.
Why do you write romance and why your genre of romance? I’ve loved reading historical romance since I was in high school, and as I devoured hundreds over the years decided I should try to write one. Medievals were my favorites because I just love castles and knights. Late medieval England has interested me since I was in a college production of Shakespeare’s Richard III and wondered how much was true. I started collecting books on 15th century England (I now have over 200) and wanted another reason to use them.
What are you working on next and when can we expect to see it? My next release is my third novella for WolfeBane Publishing, I believe in late November. In My Rival, My Love, she has a key. He has a locked box. Can uniting in a mystifying quest lead to love?
How do you spend your free time? I sing in a symphony chorus and enjoy going to the theatre and movies. On occasion, I do some live storytelling.
Do you listen to music when you write? What is your go-to playlist and why? Sometimes I listen to a medieval music station I created on Pandora, which helps me get in the mood and writing zone. I love show tunes and opera, but find those genres distracting when I write because I want to sing along.
