A Baby for the Billionaire Cowboy [Book 4 of the Accidental Billionaire Cowboys]

Background on A Baby for the Billionaire Cowboy

This runaway bride needs a fresh start.

After falling unexpectedly pregnant, Daisy Taylor barely had a moment to think. The baby’s father proposed, her parents rushed the wedding, and Daisy fled the altar. She runs away to Last Stand, Texas, to stay with her aunt and arrives in time for a fundraising ball—where her wedding dress blends in—and dances with a handsome stranger. He seems sweet and kind, and when Daisy later secures employment as an assistant at a nearby ranch, she’s pleased to see the man again. But she’s humiliated that he doesn’t recognize her.

The youngest of his siblings, Xander Tomlinson is still uncomfortable with his family’s unexpected lottery win. He prefers a quiet and peaceful life on the ranch caring for creatures in need. When his mother hires an office assistant, Xander is immediately protective of Daisy and her ever-growing belly.

Daisy won’t take charity and Xander struggles to fight his attraction to Daisy who, as an employee, is off-limits. As their friendship teeters on the edge of becoming more and the baby’s father starts making demands, will Xander learn that some things are worth fighting for?

Background for The Accidental Billionaire Cowboys series

In the Accidental Billionaire Cowboys sweet romance series, a Texas ranching family struggles to maintain their privacy and work ethic after an enormous lottery win. Can they build new dreams and find love amidst the chaos?

How did you get the idea for this series?

I was browsing the top sellers in Kindle romance and saw lots of billionaires, lots of cowboys, and a few billionaire cowboys. I doubt the average cowboy would have enough free time to develop and promote an app that would become the next Tik-Tok and get a billion dollars. So I wondered, how might a cowboy (or rancher anyway) realistically become a billionaire? I came up with a family of four brothers and their mother. She plays the lottery, not expecting to win, but simply so she can spend an hour dreaming about being rich.

And then she wins. Everything changes, and not necessarily for the better. People who win huge lotteries are advised to go into hiding, which you can’t really do when you have to take care of animals. Friends and family might demand a share of the winnings. Strangers come up with scams and sob stories. This allowed me to play with questions of dreams, choices, and responsibilities. The four books out now feature the four brothers, and book 5 will be a Christmas story starring their mother, releasing November 10.

An Excerpt from A Baby for the Billionaire Cowboy

They gazed at each other. Finally Daisy said, “You don’t have to wait with me.”

He shot a glance toward the door. “I’d rather, to be honest.”

Daisy found a smile tugging at her lips. She’d almost forgotten she knew how to smile. “Not your kind of party?”

He shook his head. “Parties aren’t my kind of party. I’d rather be home with my animals. But the dinner should be pretty good. I just have to get through a couple of hours of listening to people pitching their business plans, and then I can go back to normal.”

“So stoic,” she said. Goodness, was she actually teasing him? She didn’t even know his name. He was apparently some sort of businessman, despite the fact he couldn’t be thirty yet.

“I guess you don’t like parties either, if you don’t want to go inside,” he said.

“It’s not that. Not exactly.” It was too much to explain, and they didn’t know each other. “I’m not in the mood right now. I’ve never been to a party like this one anyway, so I don’t know if I’d like it.”

Music drifted out, a lazy country tune, not some fancy string quartet. This was supposed to be her wedding day. She should have been dancing with her new husband. Instead—

But she’d spent enough time beating herself up over all of that, second-guessing her decision, grieving and panicking and crying until her throat hurt.

“I do like dancing,” she said, for something to say, “but not in these shoes.” She nudged one of them with her bare foot.

He studied her gravely. “The grass is soft over there. We could dance. If you want. While we wait for your aunt.”

She stared up at him. For some reason, her eyes filled with tears, and she blinked rapidly.

He offered his hand and she took it. His hand was warm and callused. The first touch startled her so much she wanted to jerk away, but then her fingers tightened. She wanted to cling to that warm hand like a lifeline. Why did it feel like no one had touched her in years? That obviously wasn’t true.

What Kris Bock’s Readers are Saying about A Baby for the Billionaire Cowboy

A Baby for the Billionaire Cowboy is the fifth book in Kris Bock’s series, The Accidental Billionaire Cowboys. I have read and loved all the books in this series so far. Kris has included all the family members in the previous books so we have already met Xander Tomlinson, who is featured in this book. Xander is the youngest of his siblings. The prior year, their mother Ava had bought a winning lottery ticket and they won a billion dollars. Each of his brothers figured out what they wanted to do now that they have enough money. They also found their partners and are happily settling into their new lives on or near the family ranch. Xander is the computer and business whiz plus he also helps care for the animals and runs the ranch.

Daisy Taylor has found herself pregnant with her boss’s baby. Her parents and the baby’s father are forcing her to marry him. Right before the ceremony, she runs and starts driving to Last Stand, Texas to her Aunt Rhonda’s house. Rhonda has hopes to introduce Daisy to the Tomlinson’s and maybe she can marry Xander as he’s single. When Ava meets Daisy she offers her a job as her assistant. She is to work with her and Xander. He becomes very protective of her and the two spend a lot of time together because of work and his family events. Xander is attracted to Daisy but feels it inappropriate as he is her employer. Daisy is also attracted to Xander but is afraid of pursuing it after what happened with her boss as well as thinking he’s not interested in her. She is very happy in Last Stand, she likes her job and the Tomlinson family a lot.

After the baby is born, her ex comes back into the story and becomes a problem for Daisy. There is a lot of angst between Daisy and Xander about their feelings and suspense with the baby’s father and his actions. I really enjoyed this particular book from the series the most. Daisy and Xander are so genuine and she fits into the family really well. Their love for each other and the baby is so touching to the reader. Kris has created a beautiful family with special significant others. I highly recommend this book and series. I am looking forward to reading the next book, Ava’s story.

This book was so good that I read it in one evening. Once I picked it up I just could not put it down.

Daisy worked for William and ended up getting pregnant. She is in her early twenties and he took advantage of her. Her parents are upset because she has gotten pregnant they are all forcing her to marry him. At the last minute of the wedding she takes off. She goes to Last Stand to live with her Aunt.

While she is there she meets Xander and goes to work for his family while she is pregnant.

Check out this book. I think you will enjoy it as much as I did.

This book series just keeps getting better. I really enjoyed Daisy and Xander’s story and couldn’t get enough of them. I liked how neither of them was looking for romance, but they found it in the end. There were so many sweet scenes in this book, along with some family drama and some major drama when it came to Daisy’s baby’s father. I enjoyed seeing the bond between Daisy and Xander grow and how her family accepted her as one of their own from the start. Even though this book is part of a series, I think you can still read each book as a stand-alone.
