In her Own Words…USA Today Best-Selling Author Eileen Troemel

Hello!

I’m Eileen Troemel. I write under three pen names – this one, Ava M Taylor, and RJ Stone. Under Eileen Troemel, I write across a several genres like scifi romance, fantasy romance, contemporary romance, paranormal romance, poetry, and non-fiction. I also publish crochet patterns.

My favorite place to write – now the fantasy is some place in nature where it’s warm enough to not need a coat but not stifling hot, surrounded by trees and water of some sort and no bugs. The reality is I’m typically writing in my recliner in my living room with one light on and classical music playing. I don’t have a specific playlist. My cable has a classical music station and I just listen to whatever they are playing.ad2.png

I love a good love story. The illusion of a happy ever after draws me in and gives me the feel goods I like in my escapism. As for the different genres, I love to read many genres so I don’t like being boxed in by one genre. Life is too variable to be stuck with one genre.

Seizing the Fire started as a valentines anthology short story. I was asked to join by an author friend. I think it was my first anthology. I liked the characters and the storyline but always wanted to do more. Years later, I was part of another anthology and thought I’ll expand the story. Now I’ve got the copyright back from both anthologies and put the two together. But it was not a smooth transition so added more details and scenes. The final result is a smooth, sexy, and fun story written in first person.

Currently I’m working on Secret Magic the final book in my Wild Magic series. It’s been a long time coming and I’m excited to finish this series off. I have it about three quarters done. I’ll be rereleasing the series with new edits on the first two books and new covers and formatting in September. Once I’m done with Secret Magic, I’ll be working on Bah Humbug a contemporary holiday romance stand alone which will come ouad3.pngt in November.

In my spare time, I edit for other authors. It’s a different mindset and I enjoy the process of helping other authors refining their manuscripts. I also love to crochet. I learned when I was twelve and grew the skill over the years. If I’m not working on those things, I love to spend time with my three adult daughters and husband. In our family, we are the crazy cat people. I have seven grand fur babies. Two of my daughters live together and have five cats and my third daughter lives with me and has two fur babies. When we get time together we love to play games, go to the zoo and aquarium, go to museums, watch movies. We all have different interests so our entertainment is always varied.

When it comes to reading, I’ll read all sorts of things. From my childhood, Laura Ingalls Wilder was a big one for me. She was a small town Wisconsin farm girl with red hair. I was a small town Wisconsin farm girl with red hair. As an adult, I grew up reading Harlequin romances. Nora Roberts /JD Robb is one of my favorites but I also love Suzanne Brockmann. Anne McCaffery and Piers Anthony are two fantasy authors who I cannot resist reading. My father introduced me to Louis Lamour and Alistair McClean. As long as it’s a good story, I’ll read almost anything, though I’m not a fan of horror. If I can’t put it down, it’s a good sign.

Seizing the Fire is a cross between paranormal shifters, scifi and fantasy. It’s one of the few first person books I’ve written. Gerilynn’s first language is sarcasm whether she’s talking to her ship or the dragon shifters she ends up with. She makes me laugh and she’s insightful.
