Head to The Big Apple and Slater it On

What to Read Next: Head to The Big Apple

The Empire State Series: A Week in New York, Autumn in London, New Year in Manhattan by Louise Bay

I loved this trilogy that has turned me from a curious reader to a raving fan of Louise Bay.  It was a good thing I was on vacation when I started because I didn’t want to stop until I finished all three books. Here’s what it says about this book on Amazon:

Anna Kirby is sick of dating. She’s tired of heartbreak. Despite being smart, sexy, and funny, she’s a magnet for men who don’t deserve her.

A week’s vacation in New York is the ultimate distraction from her most recent break-up, as well as a great place to meet a stranger and have some summer fun. But to protect her still-bruised heart, fun comes with rules. There will be no sharing stories, no swapping numbers, and no real names. Just one night of uncomplicated fun.

Super-successful serial seducer Ethan Scott has some rules of his own. He doesn’t date, he doesn’t stay the night, and he doesn’t make any promises.

It should be a match made in heaven. But rules are made to be broken.

The Empire State Series comprises the novellas A Week in New York, Autumn in London and New Year in Manhattan.

Praise for the Empire State Series

“The Empire State Trilogy is one of the not only good ones, but GREAT ones. I am so in love with Ethan and Anna.” Book Briefs

“The writing is excellent and you’ll be hooked from the very beginning.” Love Between the Sheets

“5 “I don’t Bullshit” Stars! If you haven’t started this series, you need to now!! It’s an easy, quick, and smooth read that you are sure to enjoy.” Book Bitches Blog

“I would give it 6,7,8,or 9 stars if I could.” Obsessed with Books

It’s the praise included in the Amazon copy that matters, because it tells you what I discovered – these characters are complex and believable and you grow to really care about them. Are there some unrealistic plot twists? Perhaps. But somehow, Louise Bay gives these characters the realistic backstory and motivations to make those twists work.

I found this entire trilogy white-hot sexy, fun and compelling. Ms. Bay is a wonderful writer. If you haven’t discovered her by now, start here.

Gem of the Week:  Slather it On

A few years ago I was at the dermatologist’s discussing all the great products available for us to make our skin supple and use in the crusade to fight wrinkles and premature aging. Like the scene in the movie “The Graduate”, the doctor proclaimed her solution to all problems in a single word “CeraVé”.

Having just returned from vacation, I understand better than ever the value of CeraVé and her words of wisdom. I was able to pack all my skin products for this 2-week plus trip in two bottles. And I included sun-screen in that as well.  CeraVé has a facial moisturizing location that comes in an AM and PM formula and as the dermatologist promised, it is all you need for your face. It is your moisturizer, your under-makeup smoother, your SPF 30- sunscreen and at night, your night cream. In two 3 oz bottles so they are TSA friendly use them every day for great results.

Available from your local drugstore for a fraction of the fancy products or from Amazon.
