Crescent Creek Bundle, a Romantic Suspense Bundle from Viviana MacKade

Crescent Creek Collection by [MacKade, Viviana]

What I’m working on.

I’m jumping, guys!

Actually, I’m crossing.

Cross-jumping.

Whatever the word, I’m currently going through (heavy) editing on my first fantasy.

Yep, I jumped from suspense to fantasy.

And the fun I had writing the story is, honestly, unparalleled.

I can’t say much at this point, but I can say it draws loosely from mythology, part of it is set in different… let’s call them parallel planes, the Heroine has to learn how to allow herself to be who she is, not who others made her–and how this develops is not what you might think.

There are Heroines who are quite normal, and have to learn how to be warriors.

Well, her journey is the opposite. “Made” to be a warrior, she’ll have to learn how to be a woman, with all the inherent clashes and shades that are us. It might just be her fiercest battle, right there.

With her, there’s an ex-Marine Hero who’s laid back and in need of another start in life as a civilian, but who’s not afraid to show her that a soft word and a gentle hand are not, in any way, a sign of weakness. A Hero strong enough to fight with her – not for her, and not because of her.

And building this new reality–all these new realities was so much fun! I never could switch off from the here-and-now as I did this time, and it was exhilarating.

I have no idea when this will be out, I’ll start “shopping” for a publisher in a little while, and if nothing happens, then I’ll knock on my editor’s door. If I have to go the Indie way, then it’ll probably be sometime during summer or early fall.

We’ll see. But I can’t wait for all of you to read it!

From the cold Canadian border, the US1 runs along the east coast with patience. Southbound, always south, until it reaches the Sunshine State.
Not the fastest way, sure, but if you have time to drive it all the way down, you might find yourself lost in one of the coastal towns that dot the US1 like little jewels.
Maybe that town’s name is Crescent Creek.
These are the stories of its people.

All Those Miles I Walked ~ Crescent Creek 1

All Those Miles I Walked (Crescent Creek Book 1) by [MacKade, Viviana]At eighteen, DJ made a choice–her heart or her dreams. Neither was wrong, yet either would break her heart. She chose the world. Over a decade later, she returns to Crescent Creek and to the one regret she’s ever had–Scott.
Scott’s always been steady as a rocky reef. He’d loved once and when she’d left, his strong heart had crumbled like a sandcastle. Now DJ is back, and Scott wants nothing to do with her. If only Eva, his and DJ’s old friend, didn’t need their help. Because of her, he’s stuck with DJ and he’d be damned, she still gets under his skin.
DJ is a free spirit who needs the road under her feet. Scott is a family man who wants to groom his roots. With danger on their doorstep and a baby to keep safe, how much are they willing to compromise for love?

Excerpt from All Those Miles I Walked:

“I was young and scared,” she hissed, briefly recording the older man leaving the room despite Scott’s order.

He turned to face her, resting one hip on the counter and crossing his arms on his chest. “Bullshit. After the test results, there was nothing left to be scared about.”

“I was scared of you,” she breathed out, regretting her words the moment they were uttered.

He said nothing, but one black eyebrow rose in question. One she wasn’t ready to answer, not to him and not like this, in anger. It had taken her years to dig deep enough within herself to fully understand the rush to keep him away, to cut him from her life.

It had taken even more time to get over him. If she ever had.

“I apologize,” she spat out despite a tight throat. “That’s all I wanted to do.” She spun around to get out of the suddenly chilly kitchen.

“DJ?”

She stopped, didn’t turn around, one hand already on the door.

“You took 12 year-worth of love away from my life. Gave me no explanation. You’re gonna have to do a lot better than apologize to make me even think about swallowing it.”

Painted Love ~ Crescent Creek 2

Painted Love (Crescent Creek Book 2) by [MacKade, Viviana ]Thou shalt not steal.
Oh, but Florence had, and would do so one last time. Ten pieces her grandfather painted for her because he loved her. Ten pieces her mother lost, along with anything else, for loving the wrong man. She couldn’t get back everything he’d wasted away, but she’d be damned if she’d give up those paintings.
Easy and genuine, Rhett loves his life–his family, his market, his town. Until he meets a British woman with grey eyes and a cute little smile. The woman he’s been waiting for. The thing is, to love her is easy, but can he trust her?
When Rhett pushes to uncover her agenda, Flo knows she will lose something–the man she loves or what she’d been fighting for years. Which road will she choose?

Excerpt from Painted Love:

“Okay, then let me backtrack a moment,” Rhett said. “You’re thirty-four.”

Flo nodded.

“I’m thirty-two. And you, being two years older might be the hottest thing ever.”

Of all the things she’d heard. “How?”

“Are you kidding? With your experience and my youth, we can rewrite what humanity knows about sex.”

“It’s two years,” she said flatly.

“Still, you are older.”

“Well yes, but–”

He closed his eyes, lifted a hand to stop her. “Don’t ruin it for me.”

She motioned to zip her mouth with her fingers.

“In fact,” he added, pulling at the covers until she was bare. “I say we start writing that book right now.”

“I’m ready when you are, boy.”

His Midnight Sun ~ Crescent Creek 3

His Midnight Sun (Crescent Creek Book 3) by [MacKade, Viviana]Tormented, fierce, and broken, sculptor Aidan Murphy has judged himself guilty. He yearns for love but pushes everyone away. He longs for acceptance but has lost the key to open his heart. Until he meets Summer Williams. Beautiful and smart, Dr. Williams promises haven for a man who believes he deserves none. All he has to do is let her in and risk his heart and soul.
Summer’s managed to keep her inner light alive, even through tragedy. She’s created a new life for herself and her daughter in Crescent Creek with loving, caring and fun friends–well, except brooding, breathtaking Aidan. She’s used to keeping away from his type, though. All she has to do is ignore the pull of a man who’s turning up to be much more than snarls and storms. Will her compassion and medical instincts let her?
Love can heal a broken soul and shake up a timid heart. Or it can unleash devastation and revenge.
Will Aidan and Summer survive the hurricane?

Excerpt His Midnight Sun:

“I guess I’ll see you with the guys,” Aidan told her, suddenly edgy.

Wait.

Stay.

Let’s go eat some fucking ice cream.

All those words bounced in his head and didn’t get past his mouth because she wasn’t Rhett, a mate he could simply tell to go and do some stupid shit together to chase the bad mood away.

Different–that’s how she felt.

Safe. Like he could let go and whatever he needed to be, she’d accept. Not always agree with it, as it showed on her face sometimes. Nonetheless, she’d accept it.

Should it worry him? A man who’d always been proud of being free and live the way he wanted to, now he wanted more time with her. Did staying there mean losing some of the freedom he loved so much or act accordingly to it? Aidan wasn’t even sure if he cared about it.

But because the road ahead looked unfocused and, for once, how he dealt with a person mattered, he said instead, “Will you be okay?”

“Yes.” Then those eyes were on his, warm, and good, and honest. “Thank you, Aidan. I know this was a stretch for you and I appreciate it all the more.”

She leaned in and hugged him. She went, wrapped her arms around his waist and fucking hugged him. Not like a lover, nor the reach-around of a friend. This was more. Vulnerability hummed in the way she came to him, making him the provider of comfort. And when he closed his arms around her–God, she was so tiny and solid–when he stroked her back, all he wanted was to see her happy.

“Smile, then,” he demanded with half voice, pulling back to see her face, where her lips pulled up at the sides.
